This week, we will look at the first key element Content, Structure & Style and explain how to create a strong and eye catching summary.

The most valuable real estate in a CV/Resume is the top half of the 1st page: Don’t waste it! Have an inspiring, hard-hitting summary that establishes the focus of the CV/Resume and gives a quick overview of what you have to offer an employer. Research the positions and requirements of the roles that you want to apply to and ensure that your summary contains the right buzz- and keywords.

Start with a strong clear statement of who you are and what you do. Make sure your intro is powerful, rich in detail and avoid cliches. Then add 2-3 additional sentences about you and your strengths. Use the first person here, not third. A CV is a personal document and we want to keep it that way. Close your summary with a clear objective.
